where music and mindfulness meet
At InTune Rhythm, my hope is to support student's well-being, confidence, and creativity through music. My primary focus is offering adults and seniors mindful guitar and ukulele coaching, and supportive lessons for teens. Sound Wellness Session are offered as 1:1 sessions and community-based/corporate events.

A different way to learn to play
Whether you’re brand new to the instrument, revisiting, or building on existing skills, coaching provides practical guidance and steady accountability with an experienced mentor. We begin with your strengths and grow from there, creating a customized plan that supports your goals and pace. Along the way, we explore the “why” behind what you’re learning and develop technique through the songs you genuinely want to play. Making it enjoyable, even fun, while discovering your unique sound!Sessions are designed to build skill and confidence in a supportive, pressure-free environment. Also I offer optional opportunities to incorporate vocal work and/or songwriting, included, as your skills grow.Coaching is available in-person or virtual.
In this space, learning to play the instrument, or sing with it, isn't just about getting the notes and chords just right -it's about building a meaningful and sustainable relationship with music. As a music coach I see working with each student as a collaboration. It's not a one-size-fits-all lesson plan.
Using Mindfulness in Music Coaching...
This simply means slowing down and paying attention to the experience of playing. We don't focus on mistakes. We focus on relaxing in our bodies, subtle hand movements, being curious, and making a steady progress over perfection.

Sound Wellness Sessions are guided restorative experiences that use sustained tones, gentle rhythms, and intentional listening to support nervous system regulation. Research shows that slow, patterned sound can influence breath rhythm, heart rate variability, and the body’s relaxation response. Some practitioners call this wellness practice sound healing or sound baths. Those terms aren’t wrong, but they can sometimes be misleading or unclear. This isn’t “woo” or magical—it’s science, physics, and a practice as old as humanity itself. I don’t assume you need healing from anything, but I do know we all need moments to pause and reset. My role in each session is to create a safe space for you to do just that—to pause, listen, and receive the vibrations from each instrument. Each session is individualized and thoughtfully tailored to your preferences — including tonal range (higher or lower frequencies), pacing, and level of guidance — creating a sound environment that feels supportive rather than overstimulating. The goal is simple: to help shift from stress activation into a more regulated, steady state that supports rest, clarity, and overall wellbeing. Care is taken to ensure sessions feel grounded and safe, with a trauma-sensitive approach that honors individual comfort levels and personal agency.Individual Sessions

I believe there is not a part of your body, mind, or soul that music doesn’t effect. Music is medicine. I believe everyone is creative and has rhythm. We are co-creators of a universal song that has been playing since the beginning of time.As a life-long musician, music has always been my outlet for self-care and self-expression, but also how I practice resilience. I'm a self-taught musician & have played guitar almost 40 years, songwriting for 35 years & taught hundreds of people a mindful way to play guitar and ukulele over the last 15 years.I help people slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with their natural rhythm. My work is rooted in the belief that music isn't something we master, there is always more to explore, it's a Practice. My intention as a coach and practitioner is simple, help people reconnect with themselves through music and sound.Whether someone is picking up an instrument for the first time, returning to music after years away, or exploring sound for relaxation and well-being, I aim to offer supportive and trauma-sensitive spaces where learning can unfold naturally. If you're curious about learning guitar or ukulele in a supportive way, or experiencing the effects of sound-based wellness sessions, I'd love to work with you.
